I’m Paul, Program Coordinator for MAPH. I recently received my MA in English/Literary Studies at the University of Illinois Chicago, where I completed the program with a thesis project on environmental discourse in contemporary science fiction media. Before my graduate program, I spent three years as a high school English teacher, where I cemented my love of working in education and helping students of all kinds to achieve their goals. My lifelong passion for the humanities has also included extensive engagement with visual art and music, and in my time outside MAPH, I enjoy developing my work as an experimental film photographer and electronic musician. I’m always ready to talk speculative media, to expound about my plants as if they were members of my family, and to explain in unnecessary detail the benefits of owning a good cassette player.
