Biography
I’m Levens, one of the mentors this year. During my time in MAPH, I took courses primarily in the English department, on topics related to gender and sexuality. My thesis applied Lauren Berlant’s theory The Female Complaint to Sarah J Maas’s series A Court of Thorns and Roses to understand how popular romance readers manage patriarchal ambivalence in light of social media. I'm from Nashville, and before MAPH, I received my bachelors in English from the University of Tennessee. Come chat with me about reality TV, yacht rock, and One Direction.
