Hello, my name is Evan and I am one of the MAPH mentors for the 2026-2027 academic year. Last year, I primarily took courses in Art History, reflecting my interest in the history of art’s institutions. My thesis looked at Murals for the People, a 1971 exhibition at Chicago’s Museum of Contemporary Art, as the junction between the Community Mural Movement and a young art institution. Before coming to MAPH, I received my BA in Community Studies at the University of California, Santa Cruz. I have worked in both commercial galleries and nonprofit art spaces, so I am available for any career questions you may have! Outside of work and academia, I enjoy cycling, punk rock, photography, and swimming in the lake. Feel free to drop by the office and chat about art, music, and Chicago history!
