Hiya, I’m Cas, one of the MAPH Mentors for the 2026-2027 academic year. I moved to Chicago in 2018 to earn my B.A. degrees in Public Policy and Creative Writing from the University and stayed to complete my M.A. As a MAPH student, I focused on Creative Writing and wrote the better half of a sociological Black horror novel for my thesis. Aside from writing, I love gaming on my Nintendo Switch, punch needling, disturbing my cat’s peace, listening to records, and playing indoor or grass volleyball. I’m always happy to chat about anime and the numerous conventions around the city, paranormal mysteries, or trade top tier breakfast spots.
