We welcome and encourage students to visit us in Chicago.  While we strive to make as much information as possible available to prospective students online, a campus visit allows prospective students to experience the "feel" of the program in a way that cannot be conveyed in email, letters, or on the web.

Throughout the Year

Campus visits usually include the opportunity to meet with program staff and mentors. Our office is located in the Classics Building and is open every weekday from 9am-5pm, excluding holidays. Meetings can also be arranged with our Director and Deputy Directors, depending on their schedules. To schedule a visit, please write to us at

Campus Tours

If you are a prospective or admitted graduate student and would like to join a tour of campus, tours are offered by the Office of Enrollment and Student Advancement and led by current graduate students. Offered Monday through Friday, tours last approximately one hour. Walk-ins are welcome, but please register in advance. Upon registration, you will receive a confirmation, including links to directions and parking information. If you have additional questions or need special accommodations, please feel free to write to a tour coordinator at

Campus Days

While we are glad to visit with you about the program throughout the year, we also invite admitted students to campus every Spring for our Campus Days. This event offers admitted students a chance to see the campus, sit in on classes and meet the people from around the Division of Humanities who help to make MAPH an excellent academic program.  Campus Days is a great way for prospective students to find out how MAPH might fit into their own personal trajectories.
